INFINITE Fans In An Uproar Over The Group's Possible Participation In SMTown Concert Tour INFINITE moves to SM Town?Fans are really not happy about it.

It seems that while many fans still don’t like it, most have accepted the fact that INFINITE and other Woollim Entertainment artists are now under the big heading of SM Entertainment.

When the merger that combined SM subsidiary SM C&C with Woollim Entertainment to form the new Woollim Label was announced earlier this month there was a pretty nasty wave of fan backlash.

It seems that followers of groups like INFINITE, Tasty, and Nell were not too pleased that the influence of the SM company would change the style of music that had previously been produced by the unique acts.

SM Entertainment, however, contended that Woollim Label would remain an independent subsidiary and that the parent company would help with the promotion of the groups rather than include them in the same production process used by the other acts under the agency.

In other words, the merger was completely financial.

By engulfing Woollim, SM was able to significantly increase its profit shares and, in turn, bolster their bank account.

While accepting the inevitable was difficult for some to swallow, the idea that the new Woollim Label would continue producing eclectic music and that the groups now under it would maintain their originality made the decision a little more tolerable.

Now, however, rumors are spreading quickly that INFINITE will join the other SM artists for the SMTown concert tour this fall.

Pop duo Tasty has already confirmed their participation for the concerts where they will perform alongside the likes of Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, f(x) and SHINee.

INFINITE fans, however, are really not happy about the possibility.

SM Entertainment says that INFINITE’s participation is still “in discussion.”

Taking the financial aspect into consideration, this makes total sense. After all, SM instigated the merger to boost their own profits, and adding a popular group like INFINITE to their lineup certainly would help.

Tasty is still relatively new to the Korean music scene, so they only stand to get more recognition from joining the SMTown tour where thousands of fans will be familiarized with the music.

But INFINITE’s fandom argues that the group’s participation could only end badly. Not only does the idea upset their followers, but the clash of vying fan groups has the potential to get dirty.

As one INFINITE fan pointed out, “many Super Junior fans already have a big issue with Henry, and he is a very popular SM artist – imagine what the other SM fans would do to INFINITE.”

It seems like SM Entertainment is going to have to tread very lightly when dealing with matters concerning Woollim Label for fear of an all-out fan war.

Just think what would happen if they tried to get Nell on the SMTown tour lineup?

What do you think?Should INFINITE be included in the SMTown activities?
