The 2012 MelOn Music Awards, hosted by LOEN Entertanment and MBC Plus Media, was held on December 14th at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. MelOn is Korea’s major music download site. In addition to the MelOn Music Awards Top 10, the ceremony also named this year’s best artist, album, and global artist awards, as well as the popular, music style, and special awards. The winners were chosen by calculating the number of downloads, which accounted for 60% of the vote, and the streaming number, which accounted for 40% of the vote.
